MONTY G

About

Island-born. Reggae for life.

“I've had a fire burning in me for the last two years, seeing the world evolve and music change. I feel like we need more messengers, and it's time for the musical soldiers like me to get back on the front lines.” Monty G

Monty G (Ramont Green) is a Stellar Award-nominated, Marlin Award-winning Bahamian reggae singer, songwriter and producer from Freeport, Grand Bahama and Bimini, now based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For more than 20 years he has carried one mission through his music: lift people up. From his 2002 album Revolution to his new album Life, Faith & Love, Vol. I, his songs speak to hope, resilience, gratitude and the strength to keep pushing forward, no matter what life brings.

It started in front of the TV, watching Soul Train and American Bandstand with his older sister. Bob Marley's Legend and Garnett Silk shaped how he hears a record: roots and rhythm, with a message that hits the heart.

Monty G is one half of the production team THE ARKITECHZ. He has toured, written and produced for and with some of reggae's biggest names, including Beenie Man, Ky-Mani Marley and Jr. Reid. He served as director of A&R at Flo Rida's label, IMG Strongarm, then led his own company, Royalty & Respect Management, as CEO. Now he has taken off the executive hat and stepped back into the studio.

That return produced Life, Faith & Love, Vol. I, released through Lion of Judah Music Group and distributed worldwide by Tuff Gong International. The 12-track album blends authentic Caribbean rhythms with uplifting storytelling, and features Papa San ("L.I.V. Christ"), Marion Hall ("Christ Rule") and TwinDem ("Real Friend"). Its lead single, "Best Day," came out of a hard season. It's the song that brought him out of a dark place.

“I started every day with that song. Even before I recorded it, I just would sing it in the shower like, ‘This is the best day of my life.’” Monty G, Finding Harmony Podcast, July 2026

Performing in Israel remains his most memorable moment on stage, and recent stops include Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados. His music is a reflection of his faith in Christ, and spreading that message is what keeps him going. Wherever he goes, the message is the same: you can rise above whatever you're facing.
